The history of Bron Ltd. (“BRON”) reflects how one idea can grow into a lasting legacy. At the center of that story is Scott Blacquiere, whose vision extended beyond building a business to creating something deeply rooted in the place he would come to call home.
Twenty years ago, Scott, a Canadian engineer and affectionately known at BRON as the “Canadian Adventurer,” made the bold decision to move his family to The Bahamas.
His professional journey led him to the Ministry of Works, where he served as Head of the Structural Group. There, he quickly identified a critical gap in the country’s development landscape: the absence of coastal engineering solutions tailored to island environments.
Immersing himself in the local landscape and community, and eventually becoming a proud Bahamian citizen, Scott recognized that for an island nation, this gap was more than technical. It was foundational. He saw an opportunity not only to contribute his expertise but to build something meaningful for his new home.
In 2005, from a single attic and a shared dream, that vision became Caribbean Coastal Services (CCS). The company was formed out of necessity and experience, with a focus on protecting and developing island environments responsibly while intentionally building local capacity from the very beginning.
As projects expanded across The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean, the ecosystem around the work evolved naturally. By 2013, the scope of services had grown to include environmental and large-scale structural projects, reflecting the increasing complexity of development across island environments.
To support this growth, ENCO International LLC was later established, formalizing structural design capabilities and drawing on expertise from a Miami-based team and consultants in China.
In 2017 and 2018, the expansion continued with the formation of ENCO International (Bahamas) to focus on geotechnical services and over-water drilling, marking the beginning of regular drilling operations in The Bahamas. During this period, Atametrics was also established, strengthening the group’s capabilities in geomatics, surveying, and technical data collection.
Each company was built with intention. The focus was not only on delivering projects but on developing expertise, building strong brands, and creating meaningful career pathways for Bahamian professionals.
“BRON was never built by one person,” explained Scott Blacquiere, Founder and Managing Principal of BRON. “It grew from a small, determined core team with youthful energy and a shared belief in building sustainable development led by Bahamians.”

A defining moment soon followed, as the future direction became clear. The path forward required unity.
Thus, BRON was formed by bringing together the talent, expertise, and leadership from across the individual firms. This alignment created a unified platform under Bron Ltd. (“BRON”), bringing architecture, engineering, environmental sciences, geomatics, coastal and geotechnical services, project management, and business solutions under one name, one sound, and a shared source of expertise.
As the work grew, BRON TCI Ltd. was established in 2019 to support projects in the Turks and Caicos Islands, expanding the firm’s integrated development approach while maintaining a connection to local island realities.
Today, BRON stands as a multidisciplinary development consulting group shaped by two decades of trust, innovation, and leadership. Proudly Bahamian-led, the company is powered by a young, dynamic team driven by unlimited possibilities and a shared commitment to shaping a better, more sustainable Bahamas.
What began as a consultancy quickly grew into something more. The collective effort of that early team built a culture, a platform, and a shared mission that continues to evolve through the people who carry it forward. At BRON, everyone brings their own interpretation of what progress and impact look like, and that diversity of purpose is what has allowed the company to grow, adapt, and endure.
“Our purpose has always been to Make Paradise Possible by ensuring Bahamian professionals have opportunities to apply their expertise locally,” said Carlos E. Palacious, Managing Principal of BRON.
Reflecting on his own journey and the guidance he received as a young professional, he added, “It’s about empowering Bahamians to lead development with insight shaped by lived experience.”
Over the past twenty years, Scott Blacquiere’s vision has shaped more than a company. It has created a foundation for sustainable development, Bahamian leadership, and a culture built to endure.
As BRON marks this milestone, we celebrate not only where we began, but the people, values, and momentum that will carry the work forward for generations to come.
